SALINAS, California — October 27, 2026. Monterey County is considering a one-year residential lease costing up to $31,560 to provide housing connected with trauma physician services at Natividad Medical Center.
Board of Supervisors agenda item A 26-443 lists a proposed agreement with 1496 Constitution CB, LLC, doing business as Creekbridge Village Apartments. The proposed term runs from November 1, 2026, through October 31, 2027, with payments of $2,630 per month. County officials also seek authority for up to three future 12-month renewals under stated conditions.
Why the hospital is considering a lease
The agenda identifies the purpose as housing for trauma physician services at Natividad. Having physicians available to respond promptly is an important component of hospital emergency care; the agenda alone does not establish a specific improvement in response times or patient outcomes.
This is not a public apartment assistance program or a new housing development. Nor does the contract ceiling mean the full amount has already been paid.
How to follow the contract
Residents can check the county’s final meeting record and executed contract for the decision and costs. At publication, the county meeting page said minutes were not finalized, so the item is described as a proposal, not an adopted expenditure.
