SALINAS, Monterey County — November 3, 2026, election-night count. Two separate Hartnell Community College District trustee areas show early leads, with both contests relevant to Salinas Valley communities.

What the first returns show

In Trustee Area 6, Sofia Ramirez has 1,677 votes and Rosalie C. Sanchez 1,540, a margin of 137. In Trustee Area 7, Nancy Reyes has 1,609 votes and John Huerta Jr. 1,301, a margin of 308.

Why this race or measure matters

The two trustees represent distinct geographic areas, rather than one collegewide two-seat race. The figures in this report come from the county’s early returns; a candidate leading on election night is not necessarily the certified winner. Hartnell governance includes education policy and college-system oversight.

Result status and reporting cutoff

This article uses Monterey County returns reported as of approximately 8:30 p.m. Pacific on November 3, 2026, as reproduced by Salinas Valley Tribune. These are not newer November 5 figures and are unofficial. Additional mail ballots, provisional ballots, and canvass work can change the counts. Consult the county election office before relying on an outcome as final.
